Meta Ads for SaaS

Facebook ads for SaaS that find users who activate and pay.

Octomize runs Facebook and Instagram ads for SaaS companies, optimized for activated trials and paid accounts instead of sign-ups. We send product events from your server to Meta through the Conversions API, test creative and offers at a steady pace, and retarget trial users who haven't reached value. Results are judged on cost per paying customer from your billing data.

What's included

  • Conversions API setup for trial, activation and subscription events
  • Creative and offer testing built around the problems your product solves
  • Instant Forms or site trials, chosen by how your product sells
  • Retargeting for trial users who haven't activated
  • Customer-list audiences for B2B accounts you already know
  • Reporting on cost per activated trial and per paying customer

Creative and offer do the work of a keyword

On Google, the search term tells you what someone wants. On Facebook and Instagram, nobody types anything, so the ad has to pick its own audience. An ad that names a specific pain, such as chasing unpaid invoices or rebuilding the same report every Monday, reaches the people who have it. The offer then has to lower the cost of trying: a free trial, a template or a short product tour.

Interest targeting gives you less control than it used to. Meta removed detailed targeting exclusions in 2025 (Meta for Developers), so we keep audiences broad and let the creative filter. B2B adds another limit: Meta knows people, not companies. Customer lists and retargeting carry more of the targeting for sales-led products.

Optimizing past the sign-up

A sign-up goal buys sign-ups, including people who never open the product twice. We send trial start, an activation event and the first payment from your server through the Conversions API, so Meta can find more users like the ones who stayed. Our guide on optimizing Meta ads past the sign-up covers the event setup, and the post on which SaaS conversion event to bid on explains how to pick the right one for your volume.

Lead forms keep people on Meta and fit sales-led products. Self-serve products usually send traffic to the site trial. Either way, we retarget trial users who haven’t activated with ads that show the next step in the product.

Where we work

SaaS companies selling in the US, the UK and the EU. See our Meta Ads management page for how we run Meta outside SaaS.

How it works

  1. 01

    Choose the events

We agree which product moment counts as activation and which events Meta should see: trial start, activation and the first payment.

  2. 02

    Send them server-side

We set up the Conversions API from your backend or billing system, matched to the browser pixel so Meta doesn't count events twice.

  3. 03

    Test creative and offers

We launch several angles at once, each showing a real use of the product, and keep targeting broad so the creative decides who sees the ad.

  4. 04

    Optimize deeper as volume grows

Ad sets start on the deepest event they can reach often enough, then move to activation or paid as the numbers allow.

What we do: the system

We don't just run ads. We own everything that determines outcomes.

  1. 01 · Strategy

    Digital strategy

Before we touch an account, we set the plan: which channels, what budget, what a lead or a sale is worth to you, and what we test first.

    • Channel mix and budget split
    • Target CPA or ROAS set from your margins
    • A 90-day plan with clear milestones
  2. 02 · Landing page

    Landing pages + CRO

Most paid traffic is lost on the page, not in the ad. We build or rework the page around one offer and one action, then keep improving it on real visitor behavior.

    • New pages or fixes to the ones you have
    • Message matched to the ad and the search
    • CRO roadmap from session recordings
  3. 03 · Tracking

    Tracking & measurement

If the numbers are wrong, every optimization is a guess. We set up tracking that holds up against ad blockers and cookie limits, and send real outcomes back to the ad platforms.

    • GA4 and GTM, client- and server-side
    • Enhanced Conversions and Meta CAPI
    • Offline imports: qualified lead, booked call, closed deal
  4. 04 · Ads

    Performance marketing

With the plan, the page and the tracking in place, we build the campaigns and optimize them every week on real data.

    • Google Ads and Meta Ads builds or restructures
    • Keyword, audience and creative testing
    • Bidding toward profit, not just volume
  5. 05 · Reporting

    Profit-focused reporting

You see sales, profit and lead quality, the numbers your business runs on, not clicks and impressions.

    • KPIs agreed with you up front
    • ProfitMetrics when margin data is available
    • Regular updates in plain English
  6. 06 · Growth

    Business growth support

Once the system runs, the data shows where else you can grow. We bring you the ideas.

    • New products or services the data points to
    • New channels and markets to test
    • Offer and pricing ideas from what converts

FAQ

Questions we get asked.

Do Facebook ads work for SaaS without search intent?

They can, if the ad does the job a keyword does on Google. Nobody on Instagram is looking for software, so the creative has to name a problem the viewer recognizes and the offer has to make trying the product easy.

Should we use Meta lead forms or send people to a trial on our site?

Lead forms suit sales-led products where a person follows up, though they bring more low-intent contacts and need qualification from your CRM. Self-serve products usually do better sending people straight to the sign-up page, where the product can start activating them.

Which event should Meta optimize for?

The deepest one each ad set reaches often enough for Meta to learn. For most SaaS accounts that is trial start or an activation event at first, with paid conversions added once they have the volume.

Can Meta reach B2B buyers?

Yes, with limits. Meta targets people, not companies. We rely on creative that speaks to a role, customer-list audiences and retargeting, and judge the results on qualified demos from your CRM.

Do you also run Google Ads for SaaS?

Yes. We usually pair Google Ads Search for active demand with Meta for reaching people before they search and for retargeting trial users.
